Mertech Telemetry, a member of the Mertech product family, is a next-generation monitoring, management, and reporting system developed according to automotive standards, especially for commercial vehicles. It combines many features in a single product with integrated components such as GSM, GPS, Wi-Fi, CanBUS, RS232, digital/analog inputs, digital power outputs, an accelerometer, and an external memory card.
Short-circuit protected power outputs | Digital inputs | Analog level indicator inputs | Battery voltage display | Internal battery (Optional) | Program update via SD card
It helps users interpret FMS data and provides a wide data accumulation.
What is a Digital Twin
Digital inputs are available in eight groups of three, and each group has its own common terminal. Thanks to this independent common terminal structure, each group can detect in different electrical directions (flexible polarity).
The status of each input can be monitored both via Modbus and CanBUS connections, and also observed through LED indicators.
A Digital Twin is defined as the virtual model of the real-world behavior and results of a physical product or service. Simply put, a digital twin is the virtual model of a process, product, or service. The digital twin is the digital copy of a physical object and acts as a bridge between the physical and digital world.
Main Problems Encountered in Commercial Vehicles:
- Problems caused by overspeeding and excessive working hours for drivers,
- Inefficiency, high fuel consumption, and quick wear of vehicles,
- Losses caused by performing periodic maintenance and part replacements based on mileage or time rather than actual needs
Solution
- Detection of overspeeding, sudden acceleration, and long operating hours
- Determination of causes of inefficiency and high fuel consumption and vehicle wear times
- Optimization of periodic maintenance processes
- Real-time data collection from vehicles via CANBUS J1939 and FMS protocols
- Compression and roll-up on the central server using conventional methods: MERTECH ROLL UP APPROACH
- Examination of the archive created from collected data
- Connection only to authorized CANBUS line (no interference with the vehicle’s critical communication infrastructure)
- Real-time data collection from vehicles via FMS — in compliance with vehicle CAN privacy
- Vehicle health
- Consumption reports
- Transmission of data via a proprietary protocol: CANBUS ONLINE LOG TRANSFER PROTOCOL
- Storing sufficient data for meaningful analysis
- Hardware data reception method
- One-way monitoring of data taken from the vehicle CANBUS line
- Software, reporting, and new service development
- Driver performance score*
- Periodic maintenance monitoring
- Crash recording system
Benefits
Mertech Telemetry provides the following benefits for vehicle manufacturers, fleet operators, and drivers in the commercial vehicle segment:
- Creating vehicle-specific digital twins
- Generating vehicle predictions via the digital twin
- Remote fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance
- Scoring and analyzing driving and driver performance
- Keeping crash data records
- Executing predefined emergency scenarios in case of potential fault/accident
- Operation under automotive environmental conditions in compliance with AEC Q100–Q200 standards
- Service alerts and notifications to third-party businesses
- Ensuring traffic efficiency and safety through V2V
- Real-time transmission of data such as weather, road, and traffic conditions to the central server
